Mini Resolutions

I hate New Year’s resolutions. Mostly, I hate them because I’ve never been able to keep them. I read someone’s blog recently about “mini resolutions”. This woman committed 30 days to a habit she wanted to try. I can do that. I can do something for 30 days’ish.

Here are a few of the things I came up with that I want to try in the coming year.

  1. Make art everyday
  2. Eat no sugar or sugar substitutes
  3. Spend an hour cleaning my house
  4. Meditate for 15 minutes
  5. Watch no TV
  6. Go to bed earlier
  7. Stretch in the morning
  8. Bring lunch to work
  9. Learn French (I already have the Rosetta Stone set!)
  10. Write something
  11. Buying nothing

I figure since I’m starting in February (today in fact) that this list will do me for the rest of 2017.

What am I doing this month? Spending an hour cleaning my house every day. A friend of mine said, “That’s a lot of time! How are you going to spend that much time everyday cleaning?!” Without going into a lot of details, my house can stand AT LEAST an hour a day for a month and it will still not be clean enough, according to my mother.
